Road connection
Strategic position
The cargo port of Gaženica is characterized by an outstanding road connection, which is key to its operational efficiency and importance in international trade. Located right next to Zadar, the port is optimally integrated with the main traffic routes of Croatia, enabling fast and efficient cargo transport to the interior and neighboring countries.
One of the main advantages of the port of Gaženica is its proximity to the A1 highway, known as Dalmatina, which stretches along the Adriatic coast and connects central Croatia with the south. This highway provides quick access to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and further connection with European road networks. Via the highway, cargo can be transported to the main economic centers of Croatia and further to Central and Western Europe.
Luka Zadar d.d. is directly connected by the four-lane road D424 Zadar, which is 17.6 km long (the port of Gaženica) – which connects to the highway junction Zadar II.
In addition to the A1 highway, the port of Gaženica is also well connected with state roads that connect Zadar with other parts of Dalmatia and Croatia. This enables flexibility in logistics operations and enables the optimization of transport routes according to the needs of port users.
