General information
Ports open to public traffic are classified in the “Regulation on Classification of Ports Open to Public Traffic and Special Purpose Ports”.
The port of Gaženica is classified as a port of special (international) economic interest of the Republic of Croatia in both segments, both in passenger and cargo traffic.
The legal relations between the Zadar County Port Authority, as the grantor of the concession, and the Company, as the concessionaire, are defined by the Concession Agreement for port activities and the use of infrastructure facilities (infrastructure) of the port and port superstructure (superstructure) in the port area of Zadar – cargo port Gaženica.
This agreement was signed on July 19, 2002. With this agreement, the company received a concession for the primary activities of loading, unloading and transshipment of goods and passengers, storage, transportation and other forms of manipulation and control of all types of cargo, mooring and unloading of ships, as well as other port activities related to them. It is the legal basis for the use of the maritime area.
Capacity
According to the relevant regulations, the Company requested an extension of the concession period during January 2014, and the Zadar Port Authority approved the request and forwarded it to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, and on 15.05.2014. The Government of the Republic of Croatia passed the Decision on granting prior consent to the Decision on extending the term of the priority concession granted to the trading company Luka Zadar d.d.
The capacities used by the Company are partly owned by the Company and partly owned by a third party.
The company currently operates on an area of 200,000 m².
